3 KEY MAIN POINTS ON PRAYER

  1. THE CERTAINTY THAT PRAYER WORKS

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.  And if we know that he hears us (whatever we ask) we know that we have what we asked of him”

(I John 5:14-15 New International Version.

This certainty was underwritten by Jesus; the bible says:

“And they sang a new song, saying: You are worthy to take the scroll
and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth” (Revelation 5:9-10 New International Version).

  1. THE PRIVILEGE OF PRAYER

“Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; to execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord (Psalm 149:6-9 King James Version)

  • He called us to work together as his workman
  • Set us up as watchman

It is good to know that not only did God commands us to pray, He also empower us to pray.

  1. THE MANDATE OF PRAYER
  • To make a difference – II Chronicles 7 vs 14 says:

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land”

  • To enforce the will of God on earth – Matt 6vs 10 says:

“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven”

  • To walk in the Supernatural –

“Unless you people see signs and wonders, Jesus told him, you will never believe.”
